2017 Staff Training Requirement

Introduction:  The State Office and Camp Coordinator recommend that all summer camp staff complete the Mandated Reporter Training for child abuse or neglect.  This training class, developed by the Department of Family and Children Services (DFACS) in partnership with Pro Solutions, is available online and covers
  • how to better recognize the indicators of abuse and neglect
  • how to understand your role in responsible reporting
  • how to identify the groups of children that may be at a higher risk of being abused or neglected.
Part A:  Completion Options for the Online Mandated Reporter Training
Option 1:  Your employer can certify that you have successfully completed a Mandated Reporter Training program.  Click HERE to download the letter of certification.  Mail it to the address below.
Option 2:  Online Completion of the Mandated Reporter Training.  Click HERE to log in.  Set up a Pro Solutions Training account (no cost).  Click on the course Mandated Reporters: Critical Links in Protecting Children in Georgia.  This will place it in your cart.  Click on the cart to check out (Balance will show $0), and a link will be provided for the course.  Complete the course and mail  your certificate to the address below.
Option 3:  For those without computer access at home, the class will be offered prior to the arrival of the campers.  It will be up to each individual to schedule a time to complete the training.  This option is not recommended except for extenuating circumstances.

Part B:  Pre-Camp Staff Meeting with the Camp Coordinator
Each director will schedule a general session with the Camp Coordinator prior to the arrival of the campers.  If needed, a make-up session will be scheduled for late arrivals of staffmembers traveling with camper.
